A rua principal da aldeia de Quintandona, em Penafiel, exemplifica a arquitetura tradicional da região do Vale do Sousa, com construções em xisto, granito e lousa, materiais extraídos localmente. Preservando o traçado original das suas ruas estreitas e irregulares, com pavimento em calçada de pedra e muros em xisto empilhado, a aldeia integra a Rota do Românico e é um núcleo vivo do Museu Municipal de Penafiel. Quintandona, habitada desde o século XIII e classificada como Aldeia de Portugal, mantém a ligação à atividade agrícola e representa um exemplo notável de reabilitação rural e valorização cultural, onde as técnicas construtivas ancestrais são evidentes, promovendo um turismo cultural e sustentável.

The main street of the village of Quintandona, in Penafiel, exemplifies the traditional architecture of the Vale do Sousa region, with buildings made of schist, granite and slate, locally extracted materials. Preserving the original layout of its narrow, irregular streets, with cobblestone sidewalks and stacked schist walls, the village is part of the Route of the Romanesque and is a living part of the Penafiel Municipal Museum. Quintandona, inhabited since the 13th century and classified as a Village of Portugal, retains its connection to agricultural activity and represents a remarkable example of rural rehabilitation and cultural enhancement, where ancestral building techniques are evident, promoting cultural and sustainable tourism.
