Trilhos Cársicos nos Picos de Europa
Um pequeno grupo de caminhantes avança por um trilho estreito na passagem junto à Vega de Liordes, no Maciço Central dos Picos de Europa, numa etapa que desce em direção a Fuente Dé. A paisagem combina prados de altitude e lajes calcárias típicas do relevo cársico: a água infiltra-se rapidamente nas fraturas da rocha, reduzindo cursos superficiais e condicionando a vegetação. As encostas mostram marcas de modelação glaciar e periglaciar, comuns nesta cordilheira cantábrica, onde os desníveis são acentuados e o tempo pode mudar rapidamente. Estas vegas funcionaram historicamente como pastagens sazonais, ligadas à pastorícia e à transumância, e hoje integram itinerários pedestres sinalizados. O destino, Fuente Dé, é um ponto de acesso importante ao parque nacional — criado em 1918 e ampliado em 1995 — sendo conhecido também pelo teleférico que liga o vale às cotas superiores, facilitando a circulação de visitantes.

The landscape combines high-altitude meadows and limestone slabs typical of karst terrain: water quickly seeps into the cracks in the rock, reducing surface watercourses and conditioning the vegetation. The slopes show signs of glacial and periglacial modeling, common in this Cantabrian mountain range, where the slopes are steep and the weather can change quickly. These meadows have historically served as seasonal pastures, linked to pastoralism and transhumance, and today form part of marked walking routes. The destination, Fuente Dé, is an important access point to the national park—created in 1918 and expanded in 1995—and is also known for the cable car that connects the valley to the higher elevations, facilitating the movement of visitors.
