Entre Xistos e Campos: A Vida Rural nas Margens do Olo
O rio Olo, afluente do Tâmega, corre através do Parque Natural do Alvão, onde as suas águas, intensificadas pelas chuvas de inverno, serpenteiam em direção às Fisgas de Ermelo, uma das mais notáveis quedas de água de Portugal. A paisagem é esculpida por encostas íngremes e formações rochosas de xisto e quartzito, refletindo a dinâmica geológica desta área. Ao fundo, a aldeia de Varzigueto, situada a 745 metros de altitude no concelho de Mondim de Basto, apresenta socalcos agrícolas que evidenciam a ocupação humana tradicional. Estes campos, adaptados ao relevo montanhoso, contrastam com os matos e a vegetação característica da região, que adquire colorações diferentes ao longo das estações. The Olo River, a tributary of the Tâmega, flows through the Alvão Natural Park, where its waters, intensified by winter rains, meander towards Fisgas de Ermelo, one of Portugal's most remarkable waterfalls. The landscape is carved by steep slopes and rock formations of schist and quartzite, reflecting the geological dynamics of this area.
