No Parque Natural do Alvão, o rio Olo serpenteia por vales profundos, aproximando-se das Fisgas de Ermelo, um notável desnível fluvial. A imagem, captada em fevereiro, revela um caudal aumentado pela pluviosidade invernal, realçando a vegetação composta por pinheiros e matos resistentes às baixas temperaturas, onde urzes e carquejas pontuam a paisagem. A geologia da região, marcada pela transição entre granito e xisto, favorece a formação de cascatas e piscinas naturais ao longo do curso do rio, que nasce na serra do Alvão. Ao fundo, vislumbram-se construções isoladas, testemunho do povoamento disperso característico desta área rural transmontana, integrada numa paisagem de elevações montanhosas ricas em biodiversidade, habitat de fauna como a lontra, o corço e o javali.

In the Alvão Natural Park, the Olo River winds through deep valleys, approaching the Fisgas de Ermelo, a remarkable river drop. The image, captured in February, reveals a flow increased by winter rainfall, highlighting the vegetation composed of pine trees and shrubs resistant to low temperatures, where heather and gorse punctuate the landscape. The geology of the region, marked by the transition between granite and schist, favors the formation of waterfalls and natural pools along the course of the river, which rises in the Alvão mountains. In the background, isolated buildings can be seen, evidence of the scattered settlement characteristic of this rural area of Trás-os-Montes, integrated into a landscape of mountainous elevations rich in biodiversity, habitat of fauna such as otters, roe deer, and wild boar.
