A aldeia de xisto do Talasnal, situada na Serra da Lousã, a cerca de 12 km da vila da Lousã, é um exemplo notável de arquitetura tradicional portuguesa, integrando a Rede das Aldeias do Xisto e o Sítio de Importância Comunitária Serra da Lousã (Rede Natura 2000). As suas casas de pedra de xisto escura, com telhados de lousa ou ardósia, estão dispostas em socalcos, adaptando-se à encosta montanhosa. A sua origem remonta, possivelmente, à Idade Média (ou ao século XVII, segundo outras fontes), tendo sido abandonada durante o século XX e posteriormente recuperada, funcionando atualmente como atrativo turístico, com alojamento em casas restauradas e alguns estabelecimentos de restauração. O Talasnal representa a interação histórica entre as comunidades rurais e o meio ambiente, os antigos lagares de azeite e os trilhos naturais que a rodeiam tornam-na um destino popular para turismo sustentável e caminhadas.

The schist village of Talasnal, located in the Serra da Lousã, about 12 km from the town of Lousã, is an outstanding example of traditional Portuguese architecture and is part of the Schist Villages Network and the Serra da Lousã Site of Community Importance (Natura 2000 Network). Its dark schist stone houses, with slate roofs, are arranged in terraces, adapting to the mountainside. Its origins possibly date back to the Middle Ages (or the 17th century, according to other sources), having been abandoned during the 20th century and later restored, it currently functions as a tourist attraction, with accommodation in restored houses and some catering establishments. Talasnal represents the historical interaction between rural communities and the environment; the old olive oil mills and the surrounding nature trails make it a popular destination for sustainable tourism and hiking.
