Exterior do Mausoléu de Mohammed V, situado na histórica esplanada da Torre Hassan em Rabat, Marrocos. Este monumento funerário, edificado entre 1961 e 1971, constitui uma obra-prima da arquitetura moderna de inspiração alauita, tendo sido concebido pelo arquiteto vietnamita Eric Vo Toan. A estrutura central, revestida a mármore branco italiano, abriga os túmulos do Rei Mohammed V, venerado como o "Pai da Independência Marroquina", e dos seus dois filhos, o Rei Hassan II e o Príncipe Moulay Abdallah. O edifício distingue-se pelos seus arcos em ferradura e pela sua integração no local de uma mesquita do século XII inacabada, iniciada pelo califa almóada Abu Yusuf Yaqub al‑Mansur. À direita da imagem, observa-se uma das colunas truncadas originais dessa antiga mesquita, criando um diálogo visual entre a história medieval e a contemporânea. O local funciona não apenas como panteão real, mas também como um testemunho da excelência do artesanato marroquino, preservando técnicas tradicionais num contexto monumental.

Exterior of the Mausoleum of Mohammed V, located on the historic esplanade of the Hassan Tower in Rabat, Morocco. This funerary monument, built between 1961 and 1971, is a masterpiece of modern Alawite-inspired architecture, designed by Vietnamese architect Eric Vo Toan. The central structure, clad in Italian white marble, houses the tombs of King Mohammed V, revered as the “Father of Moroccan Independence,” and his two sons, King Hassan II and Prince Moulay Abdallah. The building is distinguished by its horseshoe arches and its integration of an unfinished 12th-century mosque, begun by the Almohad caliph Abu Yusuf Yaqub al-Mansur. To the right of the image, one of the original truncated columns of this ancient mosque can be seen, creating a visual dialogue between medieval and contemporary history. The site functions not only as a royal pantheon, but also as a testament to the excellence of Moroccan craftsmanship, preserving traditional techniques in a monumental context.
