Água, Luz e Arquitetura nos Jardins do Túria
Vast water mirror located in the Turia Gardens, in Valencia, Spain, adjacent to the Palau de la Música, whose glazed structure is visible on the left. Opened in 1987, this auditorium is an emblematic work by Spanish architect José María García de Paredes, designed to maximize transparency and luminosity, integrating the building into the surrounding park. The complex is located on the former bed of the Turia River, which was diverted after the catastrophic flood of 1957, allowing the area to be converted into one of the largest linear urban parks in Spain. The perspective of the photograph, captured between two massive columns of the outer portico, highlights the classical symmetry and monumentality of the public space. The outdoor area, dotted with palm trees and fountains, serves not only as an antechamber to the headquarters of the Valencia Orchestra, but also as a remarkable example of urban planning, where contemporary architecture dialogues with the Mediterranean landscape through the structuring presence of water.
