Entre Carvalhos e Ribeiros: O Outono Dourado da Mata de Albergaria
A imagem regista um núcleo da Mata de Albergaria, no Parque Nacional da Peneda-Gerês, durante o auge do ciclo outonal, com o solo coberto por folhada que alimenta a reciclagem de nutrientes num contexto de solo granítico e elevada humidade. Entre carvalhos galaico-portugueses (Quercus robur e Quercus pyrenaica) e outras folhosas caducifólias, observam‑se troncos com musgos e heras que reforçam a função de sombreamento, estabilização das margens e criação de micro‑habitats para invertebrados, fungos e anfíbios. O pequeno curso de água em primeiro plano integra a bacia do Rio Homem, retendo folhas na superfície e ilustrando a importância da matéria orgânica para a dinâmica ecológica dos ribeiros de montanha. Este sector da mata localiza‑se próximo do traçado da antiga Geira Romana (Via XVIII), ligando o valor natural ao legado viário romano no maciço do Gerês. Classificada como área de proteção reforçada no PNPG e integrada na Reserva da Biosfera transfronteiriça Gerês–Xurés, Albergaria constitui hoje um laboratório vivo para o estudo da sucessão ecológica e da conservação da floresta atlântica.

This sector of the forest is located near the route of the ancient Roman road (Via XVIII), linking the natural value to the Roman road heritage in the Gerês massif. Classified as a reinforced protection area in the PNPG and part of the Gerês–Xurés Transfrontier Biosphere Reserve, Albergaria is now a living laboratory for the study of ecological succession and the conservation of the Atlantic Forest.
