Rumo a Villatuerta: Passos na Rota Jacobeia
No Caminho Francês de Santiago, na província de Navarra, os peregrinos avançam por um trilho de terra batida que liga a passagem pirenaica a Villatuerta, um núcleo urbano visível ao fundo. Este trecho caracteriza-se por campos agrícolas de sequeiro e pequenas manchas arbustivas, enquanto ao longe se destaca a silhueta da Igreja da Assunção, um marco gótico do século XIII que serve de ponto de referência antes de Estella-Lizarra. Caminhantes com mochila e bastões seguem as setas amarelas e conchas que sinalizam o caminho, imersos na tranquilidade do cenário.
On the French Way of Saint James, in the province of Navarre, pilgrims walk along a dirt track that connects the Pyrenean pass to Villatuerta, a town visible in the distance. This stretch is characterized by dry farmland and small patches of scrub, while in the distance the silhouette of the Church of the Assumption stands out, a 13th-century Gothic landmark that serves as a reference point before Estella-Lizarra. The route, which has been one of the main pilgrimage routes since the Middle Ages, links rural paths, bridges, and old assistance points, reflecting the continuity of Christian pilgrimage practices. With the orography marked by Montejurra, known as the “sacred mountain,” this itinerary, classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, fosters a rich cultural and spiritual heritage.
