Simancas em escala: fortaleza e arquivo da Coroa

Historicamente, o edifício real reveste-se de importância monumental por ter sido designado, em 1540, pelo imperador Carlos V e posteriormente por Filipe II, como sede do Arquivo Geral do Reino. Esta decisão converteu a fortaleza num dos primeiros e mais importantes arquivos oficiais da Europa, preservando documentos essenciais da Coroa de Castela. A exposição desta miniatura permite apreciar a volumetria e a complexidade estrutural deste marco do património espanhol num contexto museológico.
