Via Roma is the central artery of Monterosso al Mare, the largest of the five villages of the Cinque Terre, serving as the vital axis of the historic center and connecting the old town to the more modern area. This pedestrian street, lined with shops, restaurants, and cafés, pulsates with local life, offering typical Ligurian products. Monterosso stands out from the other villages for having the largest sandy beach in the region and a less pronounced urban layout. The village, whose origins date back to the 7th century and which developed under the influence of the Republic of Genoa, is part of the Cinque Terre National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
