A Serra da Marofa, localizada em Figueira de Castelo Rodrigo, no distrito da Guarda, é o ponto mais elevado da região, atingindo 977 metros de altura. Este maciço granítico oferece vistas panorâmicas sobre o Vale do Côa e a planície da Beira Interior, com um percurso pedestre que atravessa vegetação típica, incluindo esteva, giesta e carqueja, intercalada por sobreiros e azinheiras. Na subida matinal, a luz do amanhecer ilumina a paisagem, realçando a transição entre os ecossistemas de montanha e as terras baixas cultivadas. O cume alberga uma estátua do Cristo Rei, erguida em 1956, e serve como destino de peregrinação, atraindo turistas. A visibilidade de 360 graus do topo abrange vários pontos de interesse, como a aldeia histórica de Castelo Rodrigo e a Barragem de Santa Maria de Aguiar, além de destacar a biodiversidade local, com a presença de espécies como o falcão e flora como a amendoeira e a oliveira.

The Serra da Marofa, located in Figueira de Castelo Rodrigo, in the district of Guarda, is the highest point in the region, reaching 977 meters in height. This granite massif offers panoramic views over the Côa Valley and the Beira Interior plain, with a walking trail that crosses typical vegetation, including rockrose, broom, and gorse, interspersed with cork oaks and holm oaks. On the morning climb, the dawn light illuminates the landscape, highlighting the transition between mountain ecosystems and cultivated lowlands. The summit is home to a statue of Christ the King, erected in 1956, and serves as a pilgrimage destination, attracting tourists. The 360-degree visibility from the top encompasses several points of interest, such as the historic village of Castelo Rodrigo and the Santa Maria de Aguiar Dam, as well as highlighting the local biodiversity, with the presence of species such as the falcon and flora such as the almond and olive trees.
