Em São Domingos de Benfica, Lisboa, o Palácio Fronteira, um dos mais importantes exemplos da arquitetura e azulejaria do século XVII em Portugal, beneficia de trabalhos de manutenção nos seus jardins de inspiração barroca. Jardineiros, muitos deles voluntários, dedicam-se ao cuidado dos canteiros de buxo, mantendo os elaborados padrões geométricos característicos deste estilo paisagístico. Um dos elementos mais notáveis é o longo muro-galeria, adornado com azulejos representando os antepassados da família Mascarenhas na secção inferior. A secção superior, conhecida como "Galeria dos Reis", exibe bustos dos monarcas portugueses, exceto os Filipes, em nichos azuis, rematada por torreões piramidais. Construído como pavilhão de caça no século XVII, o palácio e os seus jardins refletem a combinação da tradição italiana com a identidade decorativa portuguesa, sendo a sua preservação crucial, dado o seu estatuto de Monumento Nacional desde 1982.

In São Domingos de Benfica, Lisbon, the Fronteira Palace, one of the most important examples of 17th century architecture and tile work in Portugal, benefits from maintenance work in its Baroque-inspired gardens. Gardeners, many of them volunteers, are dedicated to the care of the boxwood beds, maintaining the elaborate geometric patterns characteristic of this landscape style. One of the most notable elements is the long wall-gallery, adorned with tiles representing the ancestors of the Mascarenhas family in the lower section. The upper section, known as the "Galeria dos Reis" (Gallery of Kings), displays busts of the Portuguese monarchs, except for the Filipes, in blue niches, and is topped by pyramidal turrets. Built as a hunting lodge in the 17th century, the palace and its gardens reflect the combination of Italian tradition and Portuguese decorative identity, and their preservation is crucial, given their status as a National Monument since 1982.
