Na Igreja Saint-Germain-l'Auxerrois, em Paris, encontram-se vitrais do século XIX da autoria do atelier Maréchal de Metz, retratando os reis de Judá Joás, Josafat e Jorão. Localizados na nave sul, estes vitrais coloridos e detalhados surgiram no contexto de um movimento de renovação da arte sacra em França, nomeadamente da arte do vitral, após o saque da igreja em 1831. A escolha destes monarcas do Antigo Testamento, antepassados de Cristo segundo a genealogia bíblica, reflete uma iconografia comum na arte religiosa medieval, enfatizando a ligação entre o poder temporal e o divino. A representação dos reis, exibindo coroas, ceptros e pergaminhos, sublinha a linhagem régia de Judá, integrando-se no programa iconográfico da igreja. Estes vitrais, classificados como monumentos históricos, combinam técnicas tradicionais com uma sensibilidade estética do século XIX, testemunhando a importância da Saint-Germain-l'Auxerrois, igreja com raízes que remontam ao século XII, na história parisiense.

In the Saint-Germain-l'Auxerrois Church in Paris, there are 19th century stained glass windows by the Maréchal de Metz studio depicting the kings of Judah Joash, Josaphat and Joram. Located in the south nave, these colorful and detailed windows appeared in the context of a movement to renew sacred art in France, particularly the art of stained glass, after the sacking of the church in 1831. The choice of these Old Testament monarchs, ancestors of Christ according to biblical genealogy, reflects a common iconography in medieval religious art, emphasizing the link between temporal and divine power. The representation of the kings, displaying crowns, sceptres and scrolls, underlines the royal lineage of Judah and is part of the church's iconographic program. These stained glass windows, classified as historical monuments, combine traditional techniques with a 19th century aesthetic sensibility, testifying to the importance of Saint-Germain-l'Auxerrois, a church with roots dating back to the 12th century, in Parisian history.
