A Capela da Virgem Maria, localizada na ala sul da igreja de Saint-Germain-l'Auxerrois, em Paris, outrora paróquia dos reis de França, serviu como capela paroquial até 1744. Destaca-se o retábulo em pedra esculpida, pintada e dourada, concebido no século XIX por Eugène Viollet-le-Duc num estilo revivalista do século XVI. Este retábulo exibe uma estátua da Virgem-Mãe, proveniente da Escola de Champanhe do início do século XIV, num nicho coroado, e representa a Árvore de Jessé. Acima do retábulo, a abside exibe uma pintura de Eugène Amaury-Duval, inspirada nos Primitivos italianos, retratando a Assunção e Coroação da Virgem Maria. A capela integra ainda vitrais do século XIX, da autoria de Laurent-Charles Maréchal, e reflete a arquitetura gótica parisiense com abóbadas nervuradas e arcos ogivais, evidenciando a sua função de devoção mariana dentro da rica história da igreja, marcada por eventos como o massacre de São Bartolomeu.

The Chapel of the Virgin Mary, located in the south wing of the church of Saint-Germain-l'Auxerrois in Paris, once the parish of the kings of France, served as the parish chapel until 1744. The altarpiece in carved, painted and gilded stone, designed in the 19th century by Eugène Viollet-le-Duc in a 16th century revivalist style, stands out. This altarpiece displays a statue of the Virgin Mother, from the Champagne School of the early 14th century, inside a crowned niche, and represents the Tree of Jesse. Above the altarpiece, the apse displays a painting by Eugène Amaury-Duval, inspired by the Italian Primitives, depicting the Assumption and Coronation of the Virgin Mary. The chapel also includes 19th century stained glass windows by Laurent-Charles Maréchal and reflects Parisian Gothic architecture with ribbed vaults and ogival arches, highlighting its role as a place of Marian devotion within the church's rich history, marked by events such as the massacre of Saint Bartholomew.
