A rosácea da Sainte-Chapelle, localizada na capela superior da igreja gótica construída no século XIII por Luís IX para abrigar relíquias da Paixão de Cristo, é uma das mais marcantes expressões da arte do vitral gótico francês. Reconstruída em 1485 durante o reinado de Carlos VIII, a rosácea, também conhecida como "Rosa do Apocalipse", apresenta um diâmetro de 9 metros, sendo composta por 87 painéis que ilustram cenas do Apocalipse, com destaque para Cristo entronizado e os cavaleiros do Apocalipse. Esta janela circular faz parte de um conjunto de vitrais que cobre uma superfície total de 1.113 metros quadrados e narra mais de 1.100 cenas do Antigo e Novo Testamento. A predominância das cores amarelo e verde, juntamente com o uso do amarelo-prata, reflete inovações da época. A rosácea, situada na fachada oeste, simboliza o retorno glorioso de Cristo e a chegada da Jerusalém Celestial, consolidando-se como um exemplo excecional do gótico radiante francês.

The rose window of the Sainte-Chapelle, located in the upper chapel of the Gothic church built in the 13th century by Louis IX to house relics of the Passion of Christ, is one of the most striking expressions of French Gothic stained glass art. Rebuilt in 1485 during the reign of Charles VIII, the rose window, also known as the 'Rose of the Apocalypse', has a diameter of 9 meters and is composed of 87 panels illustrating scenes from the Apocalypse, with emphasis on the enthroned Christ and the knights of the Apocalypse. This circular window is part of a set of stained glass windows that covers a total area of 1,113 square meters and narrates more than 1,100 scenes from the Old and New Testaments. The predominance of yellow and green, along with the use of silver-yellow, reflects innovations of the time. The rose window, located on the west façade, symbolizes the glorious return of Christ and the arrival of Heavenly Jerusalem, consolidating itself as an exceptional example of French radiant Gothic.
